Who looks after your information

We're the data controller for the personal information described here.

What we collect and why

• Orders: your name, delivery address, email and what you bought, so we can post your cap (to carry out our contract with you) and keep the records the law requires.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We see that you paid, but never your full card number.
• Emails you send us: for example a contact message or a Find a cap request, so we can reply (our legitimate interest in answering you).
• New caps alerts: your email address, only if you ask to be told about new caps (your consent).

We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising cookies. If you say yes, we use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. See our cookies page.

Who we share it with

Stripe (payments), Royal Mail (delivery) and our email and website providers, only as needed to run the shop and complete your order. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, with the safeguards UK law requires.

How long we keep it

Order records for 6 years, for tax purposes. New caps alerts until you ask us to stop, which you can do at any time by replying to any email from us.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent, by emailing hello@rarecaps.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
